Orange County Wedding Photography, Jeff and Karla Married!

Remember this beautiful engagement session?! {click here} Well, Jeff and Karla were married on Saturday December 17th in the Newport Beach Temple. I, as always, was honored (and delighted) that they asked me to photograph their big day. I have not done many weddings (I can still count on one hand the number of weddings I have done). So it makes me feel good when people trust me enough to capture such a HUGE milestone in their lives.

This picture turned out blurry because of the quickly fading natural light, but I kind of LOVE it to death :)

It is so fun to take milestone pictures of babies! I took Ruby's newborns a year ago {click here} and then did a session with her cute brother a few months ago {click here}.. Now she is 1! The more Lola grows, the more I want to freeze time and make sure I capture the "baby" in her. I love her so much and am so blessed with such a sweet, happy baby girl.

Could have edited out the drool, but I didn't want to for some reason :) Love her cheeks and eyes in this..

The kids and got to spend a week at a condo in Klamath Falls, Oregon with my mom and Sister and her 3 kids for a family reunion. It was AMAZING. It was so fun to spend quality time with them in such a beautiful place.
Amy is my only sister. I can't imagine not having a sister. Over the years, she has become my best friend. We don't always see eye to eye, but I think that's one thing that makes our relationship so good. She helps me see things that I may not consider. Amy is such a good Mom. She is REAL. She says it how it is. I can call her any time of day and talk to her about ANYTHING. Thanks for being YOU Amy. I hope you have a great day and enjoy these pictures for years to come. Miss you and love you!

It may sound cheesy, but I have a special place in my heart for this little family. They were one of the very first people who believed in me and my work when I was starting out in 2009. (check them out here). It was fun to see them again and how they have changed. This was a mini-session to capture brother #3 as a newborn and also the other boys at their milestones. What great kids!

P.S. This was my first outdoor newborn session. I LOVE it!

This was such a fun session for me. It was almost easy because this is just a HAPPY family. I love when I don't have to remind the parents (especially Dad) to smile. These babies couldn't be more sweet and happy either!

This was such a BEAUTIFUL and fun day at the Newport Beach Temple and then with a brunch reception afterward at The Hacienda in Santa Ana. Kevin and Patty couldn't be more optimistic, laid back, happy and in love! I had such a great time and thoroughly enjoyed doing this wedding. Autumn was a great assistant and after you see some the the different angles she got, you will see not only how talented she is, but what a difference it makes to have a second photographer. I HAD to do an official photo session with our little sweetheart! With newborn sessions, I usually have the help of the babies mother, but since I am Mama to little Lola, I enlisted the help of Daddy! :) He is such a good helper and of course Lola snoozed the ENTIRE time, she's really good at snoozing.. I can't wait to get some of these printed! These photo's were taken when Lola was 2 1/2 weeks old..

I feel really impersonal doing this, but I have been receiving so many emails that I can't keep up with it all! And instead of seeming like a HUGE flake and not responding, I decided this is the best way to explain! :)

Unfortunately all of my sessions are filled for this month and I will not be doing any sessions (unless they are already scheduled) until after I have the baby in January. Hope you all understand!

Also, if you are interested in Holiday cards through me, I will not be able to do any more "completely custom" cards this season. So all I have available as far as cards are the premade templates I posted a few days ago (click here) you can also see them at my design site or in my etsy shop. The premade templates will only be available for purchase until December 1st. After which I will be "closing up shop" for the holidays..

Hopefully next year when I don't have the third-trimester aches and sleepiness I will be a little more flexible! Thanks to all of you for your support!

I honestly didn't know what to expect after this session was finished, because little miss baby girl had her own agenda and it didn't really include being held, looking at the camera, or even acknowledging mom and dad because she LOVES to explore her independence. I don't blame her, I would feel the same way! Because of her agenda, I think we got some amazingly REAL shots, which are my favorite! I'm in love..

I didn't mean for this to be so faded, but that's what happens when the sun flares into the lens sometimes.. Sometimes the unintentional shots like this end up being among my faves..

Can I say BEAUTIFUL eyes!?!

Sometimes when I try to make babies/kids laugh, they get scared instead... :)

Christmas Photo Sessions 2010!

Christmas photo sessions are underway here at Tickled Pink Studios. It's busy, it's fun and it hasn't been too stressful yet. I've decided to not do any Holiday Family Sessions after Thanksgiving, so my available dates are filling up quick! And I will be posting some samples of my latest Photo-card designs, so get excited!

I started off the season a few weeks ago when I was asked by SMOMC {Saddleback Mother's of Multiples Club} to help with a photo fundraiser for their club. I've never really done mini-sessions and WOW was it LABOR. I even had Autumn (my wonderful Sis-in-law) come to assist at the beach session and she couldn't believe how hard we worked.. I think we photographed a total of 20 families in the 2 different days and 2 different locations. I can't even post all of my favorites, but here are some...

These triplets were PERFECT, I couldn't believe how fast this session went because they were so good at smiling for the camera!

These boys were so much fun. When they first arrived I couldn't get them to kneel down in the sand because they didn't want to get dirty, so I decided to have them loosen up and have some fun...

I didn't even ask them to do this! :)

Can I just say that I LOVE brown eyes?!

Let's just note that I really don't think I could handle it if I had multiples. Of course it is hands down much harder in a lot of ways than just having one child at a time, but that's not why I couldn't handle it.. How can you deal with "double cute"? I mean, my little guy is 2 1/2 and I think we pretty much maul him to death.. And he's so cute when he says things or does things, I just wouldn't be able to handle if there were two of him...

My sister Amy and her husband Rory made a "honeymoon" trip to Del Mar, CA a few weeks ago. Even though they were so close, I didn't want to intrude too much since they never get alone time together! But I did sneak down to the beach on Sunday afternoon, evening to take a few pictures of them. It would have been much better if there hadn't been a dog surfing competition earlier in the day {there were HUGE wet dogs EVERYWHERE}, but we managed!
Amy and Rory were married 6 years ago and never went on a honeymoon, so this trip was well-deserved! They now have 3 beautiful kids but were still sporting the "Just Married" pins at Disneyland. HA! I love them and am so grateful they are my family!

They got a little wet at the beginning of the session, but they just went with it..

And this session wouldn't be true to them without some silly ones!

A little wet and dirty, but I think it was well worth it! :)

So my parents celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary this year! Isn't that amazing.. 30 years... They are amazing and have taught me so much about loving your spouse unconditionally, lifting each other up, walking side by side through life, and supporting each other through thick and thin. I love them more than words can say and I am so grateful to be called their daughter. One Little Monkey Jumping on the Bed!

Meet my little Monkey..Yesterday, Hudson kept shutting me out of our bedroom and said he was going "a-seep."

I heard silence... Then I heard giggles.. So I decided to peak in on him and this is what I ended up finding...

And then I started a pillow-fight.. Except our pillow fight consisted of me hitting him with a pillow, him falling down and then struggling to get up because he was laughing so hard.. then he would hand me the pillow to do it again.. :)

When your mom is the oldest child of 12 children, you end up with Aunt's & Uncles practically the same age and you and cousins who call you "Aunt Kim." The new dad of baby Eliza is my Uncle Tyler {who has always felt more like a cousin}. I have many great memories of him coming to stay with us in the summer, catching hundreds of polly-wogs, him complaining that we had to go to bed when it was still light outside, and him getting into trouble ONCE {he was like a perfect child}, for pretending there was a mouse in our house and scarring my sister and I {my mom HATES mice}... It has always been so much fun having a HUGE extended family, on my mom's side alone there are almost 50 cousins. {and still counting}.. So, Tyler {the new dad} is my Uncle, Jen {the new mama} is therefore my Aunt, and sweet baby Eliza is my newest cousin! I love having a big family! {I better, because that's how I roll... My husband also comes from a family with 12 kids..}

At the end of May my brother Nathan was married to the beautiful Amber at Somewhere in Time in Lindon, Utah. The weather was perfect, even though there was snow earlier in the week and a forecast for clouds and rain. It was such a fun challenge to take on being the photographer at their wedding. This was my very first wedding as a photographer {and hopefully not my last}. I for sure learned A LOT! I love this family, we finally live close to them and they are moving, Sad! Nikki and I met about 5 years ago at church and within a few weeks she became one of my roommates and favorite friends! I am so glad she did! I hope you enjoy the obvious love that this little family has for each other, I feel like that was soooo easy to capture in these pictures. Little baby-M is 4 months old and couldn't be sweeter! Isn't she so cute? :)

So I took Kylynnes one year photo's a month or so ago and she was over it by the time we put this cute little dress that her Mommy made on her. So we decided to do a mini session to capture her sweetness in this fun fancy little dress. I am in love with the colors and of course with the girly, she is my niece and I'm proud of it!

We attempted a little "studio session" and then headed outside to an old school accross the street..

I just noticed that I never posted this picture.. I love it so much! I love what it represents. I love the way Rory is looking at Cameron. I love that Cameron is looking at the camera with a sweet face... I love that the twins are in the picture too being held by daddy. I even love that their hats are covering their faces. Can you tell I love it? I could go on and on.

As part of our gift to Brandon's Dad, Floyd we decided to update a frame that he has in his livingroom. The younger kids didn't have updated pictures so this last Saturday we did a mini-session here in Irvine.. It was a blast! I was reminded of how lucky I am to be a part of such an amazing family, I will also be forever grateful that Hudson has so many amazing people to look up to in this life. This is my family, we had such a good trip.. We miss them already.. My Brother's girlfriend {now fiance} took the picture for us.. For me, editing pictures is for sure more satisfying than eating my favorite dessert! I've also recently been on the other side, waiting to see what my pictures will look like and getting a tiny peak at one or two is FOR SURE better than a taste of my favorite dessert!

{which happens to be frozen yogurt from Beach Berries with granola in the middle and on top, yes granola only, nothing else, everything else ruins it.. It is the perfect combination of cold & crunchy with a hint of tart and sweet..just in case you were wondering..}

This was my first official family photo shoot and boy did I have a blast! It was so much fun! I'm sure it helped that Autie is one of my really good friends and that the little Mousser family is so sticking cute, but I had a blast.. I love all the colors they wore and the little accessories.. I've decided that I like to do a few posed shots and then mostly candids of the family interacting.. The candid ones are my favorites hands down, but I love how the others looked too.. So much fun!
